Making Scor! Grow!

Help Build the "Scor!-Mobile":
Once-upon-a-time, Scor! was one camp in Rochester, and all the supplies fit in one tote-bin. No longer! Bringing Scor! to 14 cities in 2012 requires hauling a substantial amount of music, supplies, signs, merchandise, instruments, literature, and equipment. Scor! needs a much bigger “tote bin”--a Scor!-mobile!

Remember “Book-mobiles?” When you couldn’t get to the library, the library came to you. Well, not everyone can come to Rochester Scor!, so we’re creating a “Scor!-mobile” which brings Scor! to you & your string-playing friends across the country!

The starter Scor!-mobile will be an appropriately equipped cargo trailer-- Scor!’s mobile storage & ‘work-room’ facility. Help share musical and personal growth opportunities by becoming a Scor!-mobile Builder today!

• $75: become a Scor!-Mobile builder.
• $125: build a square foot of the Scor!-Mobile.
• $250: build 2 square feet of the Scor!-Mobile.

Plant a (Scor!) Camp: We're planting 9 NEW Scor! camps this year, plus cultivating 4 very young 'plants'. Just like planting & tending a garden, the cost of seed, water, tilling, & fertilizer is not returned until harvest. The time-cycle of a Scor! camp from prepping the 'soil', through 'seeding' and harvest (substantial growth & participation) is 3-5 years. During that time, the camps need lots of cultivation & support--just like tender shoots in your garden. Help us seed, water, & cultivate Scor! this year!

• $75 Scor! Expansion Sponsor: to help "water" young Scor! camps annually and keep them growing & healthy.
• $500 Scor! Planting Sponsor: to "seed" a camp for the year. Scor! needs a starting $500 sponsorship for each location.

Enable Scor! Sustainability Through Growth

In order for the Scor! program to be financially sustainable, we need to launch, operate, and grow mulitiple Scor! experiences scattered around the nation.

Why not just build one larger camp like many traditional organizations? The ongoing costs required to create, promote, administer, & staff Scor! are substantial. These costs would require a single camp of at least 130+ people. What we've found through extensive study of adult string players is that a typical region can't sustain a single well-run event that large. Scor! participants are spread over a wide geographic region, but many potential participants are unable or unwilling to travel large distances for a Scor! experience.

Rather than expecting the nation to come to Scor!, we'll bring Scor! to the nation. This enables common costs of technology, administration, and promotion to be more efficiently shared among many events. So expand we must!

However, establishing new programs is costly as growth is gradual. Iinitial costs to design and promote a new camp typically exceed the funds we can generate in return. You can make a substantial difference by helping to provide seed funds that support our expansion efforts. Your funds are not just maintaining an annual budget. Rather, we primarily invest your donated funds into extending the geographical & personal reach of Scor! programs.
